Listen to this podcast episode here:
As we step into Thanksgiving week, my heart is full, but my mind is scattered. Life is moving fast—faster than I ever expected. David just finished his first semester of college. Luke has only one more semester of high school. And next year, Caleb will be driving himself to school.
Some days it feels like I can literally sense the sand slipping through my fingers. My boys are still here at home—all three of them—but I know this season won’t last forever. And because I can’t slow time down, I’ve been paying much closer attention to what truly matters:
my relationship with God, my family, and the people He’s placed in my life to love.
And in the middle of this whirlwind season, the Lord keeps bringing one foundational scripture back to my heart:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
—Isaiah 41:10
This verse has been one of the anchors of my life. It’s a Scripture that rises to the surface without effort, especially when fear tries to creep in.
Fear Comes in Many Forms
Fear isn’t always loud.
It doesn’t always come with racing hearts and trembling hands.
Sometimes fear shows up as:
- dread
- worry
- anxiety
- that quiet nagging sensation that something might go wrong
And sometimes it comes when we look at our children and wonder about their future… or think back on mistakes we made in the past… or feel the weight of decisions ahead.
But every one of those fears—loud or quiet—is answered by the promise of Isaiah 41:10:
“I am with you.”
He is with us in the unknown.
He is with us in the waiting.
He is with us in the places where our strength runs thin.
He strengthens.
He helps.
He holds us securely by His righteous right hand.
Not mine.
Not yours.
His.
That means we don’t have to have it all together before coming to Him.
We don’t have to be perfect to be held.
We don’t have to be fearless to be loved.
Our righteousness isn’t what sustains us—His righteousness does.
A Scripture to Carry Into Your Week
If you need this reminder as much as I do, write this verse somewhere you’ll see it often:
- on a sticky note
- on your phone wallpaper
- tucked inside your Bible
- taped to your bathroom mirror
Let it become part of your inner vocabulary:
“Fear not, for You are with me.
You will strengthen me.
You will help me.
You are upholding me.”
God is faithful.
He does not abandon His daughters.
He does not ignore our fears.
And He certainly does not leave us to walk through life alone.
A Word From My Heart
I want to share something personal with you today.
I started Grace for My Home over three years ago with one simple desire: to encourage moms who felt overwhelmed, inadequate, or uncertain—because that had been me. Over the years, this podcast and blog have grown into more Bible teaching, devotional encouragement, and spiritual direction. And I am grateful—truly grateful—for every woman who listens, reads, and walks this journey with me.
But lately, I’ve sensed the Lord inviting me to pause.
Not to quit—just to stop and breathe.
I’ve realized that I’ve been studying the Bible more to prepare messages for others than to nourish my own soul. And while I love pouring out encouragement every week, I can’t pour from an empty cup.
So I’m taking a brief break—just a few weeks—to rest, pray, and seek direction for this next season of Grace for My Home. I want the words I share to come from a place of overflow, not exhaustion.
During this pause, it would bless me deeply if you’d share:
- What kind of episodes or posts encourage you most?
- What topics do you come here for?
- What would you love to hear more about?
You can email me anytime (I always respond).
I’ll be back soon—refreshed, refocused, and ready to keep walking with you.
Until then, know this:
You are not alone.
You are held.
You are strengthened.
And God is with you—every step of the way.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving, my friend.
May His peace rest over your home this week.
